Nancy's Breakfast And Lunch
About This Spot
Nancy's Breakfast And Lunch is one of those quietly confident American restaurants that feels like a well-kept secret from the moment you pull up. Nestled along Gainesville Road in Ocala, the exterior might surprise you with its simplicity, but step inside and a warm, inviting space unfolds—spacious and humming with the friendly rhythms of a local morning ritual. It’s the kind of place where time feels a little slower, meals take their own sweet pace, and everyone—from regulars to travelers—finds a sense of belonging.
The atmosphere is cozy yet open, a comfortable mix of old-fashioned charm and casual familiarity. The room fills with easy conversation and the gentle clatter of dishes, energized by the smooth efficiency of the team who know their way around both the kitchen and the customers. It’s clear this isn’t just a spot to grab a bite but a place where hearty, thoughtfully prepared food brings neighbors together, each plate telling a story of homemade care.
Breakfast and lunch here lean into classic American comforts but with a distinct homestyle twist that sets Nancy’s apart. Whether it’s the delicate crisp of a perfectly balanced omelette, the slow-cooked satisfaction of corned beef hash, or the flaky warmth of fluffy biscuits fresh from the kitchen, every dish whispers “made just right.” The sides, from home fries to crispy onion rings, round out the experience with familiar textures and flavors that feel both nostalgic and fresh. And don’t be surprised to see a bustling table of locals savoring their favorites long after the first cup of coffee has been poured.
What lingers most after a visit to Nancy’s is less about any individual plate and more about the genuine human moments that unfold here. Conversations flow easily, smiles come freely, and the staff’s attentive presence—whether it’s a quick refill or a friendly check-in—makes you feel truly seen. It’s exactly the kind of place that invites you to slow down, savor the simple pleasures of good food and sound company, and perhaps, to come back again soon.

Awesome place. Food was fantastic. Don’t be turned off by the surrounding businesses, they certainly don’t reflect the quality of the grub.

There's something really special about this little, hidden gem! Nancy and Crissy run this place like a well oiled machine. I frequent lots of breakfast joints and I can tell you, there's something uniquely tasty about the food here. Nancy wouldn't tell me her secrets, that's okay, I'll be back for more anyway!!!

Yummy food. Friendly staff. Cute, spacious dining area. Much larger on the inside than it seemed. The food tasted homemade, country cooking. Food was fresh, not frozen. Fluffy biscuits, home fries from real potatoes. So good.

We were traveling to Massachusetts and decided to stop here for breakfast. It was so delicious. I was so amazed at how tasty everything is and how friendly the staff was as well. The atmosphere was great and cozy. Food was so good I didn't have time to take a picture of the food so I took a picture of what I didn't eat.

Crissy was pleasant and welcoming. As a server she was efficient, accurate and on top of refills and service. Nancy stopped by to chat for a bit as well and make sure everything was perfect, and it was. Breakfast omelette was cooked perfectly as were the grits and biscuits. As a truck driver, I eat in a whole lot of small breakfast spots, and this one is second to none! Thank y’all for breakfast and conversation.

hands down BEST breakfast we've had in long time. I found them by looking for new breakfast places to check out. the location is in a tiny unassuming plaza, but it's the cutest hole in the wall gem you could ever wish for. the decor is perfect, think vintage coke cola type design. super clean. their pies are made fresh and they offer the coke from Mexico which has the sugar cane vs fructose. now our food. I had the smoked sausage. it's huge piece of that amazing favor kettle type with the best smashed and crispy potatoes and the absolute best flavor eggs ever. I opted for 2 small pancakes, also amazing flavor Instead of toast. Long review short, we saved $6 as we usually eat at darrells and got the most amazing breakfast. they are 100% our new wkly go to for breakfast.i can't wait for my friends visiting to bring them here. oh and yes, you literally can see Nancy cooking all your food. excellent waitress and help and it came out very fast. well done Nancy, if owning a great resturant was your dream, congrats bc you more than exceeded. truly made my day.

First Impressions | Nancy's Breakfast and Lunch I'm gonna start this off by saying that I live very close to this place now and have driven past it a few times and always said I've gotta try mansie's. But of course, One thing or another gets in the way and it took me a while to get here. But I was here and here is my boasting review: First of all, the minute you walk in it is the quaintest little hole in the wall diner style restaurant. The décor is honestly after my own heart. Vintage Coca-Cola merchandise and old photos up on the wall really makes you feel like you're already part of the family. You sit where you like and you're then greeted by your server, If you're fortunate that server is Tiffany. She was so nice and immediately recommended to try their Cuban sandwich. Well, y'all, I was born and raised in South Florida and both my parents are Cuban so I thought this would be a feat for them to have such a solid excitement over their Cuban sandwich. So I said, why not? Let's try the Cuban. I put in my sweet tea with lemon order in and of course I had it almost instantly it is a small, cozy place after all but the service is almost instantaneous as I saw her serving other patrons at the same time. Tiffany then goes on to tell me that they do have a small version of the sandwich but that the large version for just a couple dollars more is worth it because you get 2 meals so of course I said sure. Lol my husband I'm sure would appreciate the gesture of sharing my lunch. So when I told her that I would take the other half home they already had prepared the sandwich and wrapped half of it to go. Once it was all ready and it came to the table, aesthetically speaking, the 1st thing I thought was this actually looks like an authentic Cuban sandwich. I also have to say Nancy is the owner and the cook which says a whole lot about a place - since normally that's not the way it goes around here. She also homemakes the coleslaw (it was delicious and I'm a picky cole slaw eater) and although sandwich orders do come with chips you can always swap it for French fries or any other side for a small price difference. But you're not here to really hear about the coleslaw, the chips or the sweet tea I ordered with lemon, you're here to know if this Cuban sandwich to this Cuban girl was actually good although it looked delicious did it taste as good as it looked? YES. SO MUCH YES. After taking the 1st bite and actually looking at the composition of the sandwich it was an amazing, perfectly made and toasted Cuban sandwich. Just the right amount of literally everything so that you can get the full flavor of a Cuban sandwich without too much mustard over powering it or too much pickles or too much of anything. The bread was pressed and toasted perfectly - not too hard and not too soft - to give you a bit of texture with the crunch. I cannot rave about this sandwich and I have tried my fair share of Cuban sandwiches both in South Florida where I grew up and here in the central and North central Florida area. And to boot, Nancy herself steps out of the kitchen to see how I feel about this Cuban sandwich. Well, of course I had to let the owner and cook herself know that it's one of the best Cuban sandwiches I have eaten in the long time. She proceeds to give me a little piece of her childhood to let me know how she learned how to make the perfect Cuban sandwich from Cuban cooks themselves. This little gem has been here for 7 years and I am just now realizing that it is a treasure trove of goodness tucked away in a small little strip mall on the side of North East Jacksonville road. You can check the menu, I've added some pictures of that as well but if it's one thing that you should go and try is Nancy's Cuban sandwich, coleslaw and sweet tea with lemon

A great local spot with good ol' home cooking and friendly, FAST service at a reasonable price! We had a group of 5 guys meet here for breakfast on a Tuesday morning in June of 2023. While the seating setup is not the best for groups bigger than 4, we made it work by pushing a table against a booth. There are a few booths, a few tables for 4 and there is also counter seating available. Our food came out quickly after ordering and was hot and fresh. We all enjoyed our meals and especially enjoyed the biscuits. Average price was around $9.99 per entree and the special (which includes a coffee or tea) was $10.99. I can recommend the corned beef hash and scrambled eggs for sure.
